What Tahir did is a great dedication. The world is entering a golden age of philanthropy. I think its human nature to want to help people who are sufferingwhen you can see the suffering. Technology is making it easier to see people who are struggling, whether they live in your own community or halfway around the world. Thats one reason why generosity is growing. Whether it is through volunteering time or giving money, people recognize their role as global citizens and see that they have many ways of helping others. -- Bill Gates Tycoons have important roles to play in contributing to the creation of sound, pleasant, dynamical national productivity with positive energy. There must be strong motivation to dedicate themselves to Indonesia instead of concentrating merely on their profit. Considering the enormous opportunity enjoyed by our conglomerate heads and the direct support of the people, it is only appropriate for the conglomerate heads to be on the front line as part of those accountable for the Indonesia economy. Preserving economic stability does not solely rest on the shoulders of the government but also on every one of us. -- B.J. Habibie President of the Republic of Indonesia 1998 1999 Tahir has this special edge in him that enables him to feel such a personal and basic issue in our soldiers life. He appreciates our soldiers for being fellow human beings who have concerns for their own familieswelfare. A boy looks up. He sees a Cardassian's hand on his shoulder and knows that this is usually a prelude to a beating or, if he is fortunate enough, arrest. The boy knows how many disappeared during the Occupation of Bajor. So he does the one thing he can think of: he bites the Cardassian. Then the nightmare begins. He is ripped from the family that took him in as an orphan, clothed him, fed him, always loved him unconditionally. And no matter how earnest, how caring the commander of Deep Space 9 is, the boy knows this is all a horrible mistake. How can someone from Starfleet judge him by what he looks like, not by what he is? He prays to the Prophets; he is Bajoran. They all keep telling him that the test proves the large Cardassian man is his father, that the other Cardassian -- that oily gul -- took him away from his father. But the boy keeps telling them that he is Bajoran, he only wants to go home with his father. So they send Rugal home -- to Cardassia. On the homeworld of the Cardassian Union where sacrifice and devotion to the state are surpassed only by the government's need to keep its people in check, one very lonely boy discovers that if he doesn't resist, his life -- like those of so many others -- will be added to the tally of the never-ending sacrifice.

This new volume in the Revels Plays series is the most detailed and comprehensive edition of "Love's Sacrifice" ever published--and the first modern-spelling edition of Ford's tragedy in more than a century. In his introduction, Moore reappraises the evidence for the play's date of composition. Arguing that Ford's adaptation of his source materials is the key to interpreting this remarkably elusive play, Moore provides a wealth of new information about Ford's sources.

The present study is made up of three parts. The first one, entitled the notion of sin by Stanislas Lyonnet, starts from the observation that redemption is essentially the destruction of sin. For this reason the treatise on redemption in the New Testament is preceded by an inquiry into the notion of sin, as it derives from the Old Testament, especially from the account of Genesis 3. The second part, also from Stanislas Lyonnet, is devoted to the terminology of redemption in the N.T. The third part, by Leopold Sabourin, is about sacrifice and redemption in the history of St. Paul's formula Christ made sin (2 Cor 5,21). The author examines the most representative testimonies of the ancient and Medieval Greek and Latin writers, and exposes his interpretation of 2 Cor 5, 21, in which the notion of sacrifice for sin appears as a key concept in this formulation.
