Maybe she's on a photo shoot in Zanzibar. Maybe she's making people laugh on TV. But all Chrissy Teigen really wants to do is talk about dinner. Or breakfast. Lunch gets some love, too. For years, she's been collecting, cooking, and Instagramming her favorite recipes, and here they are: from breakfast all day to John's famous fried chicken with spicy honey butter to her mom's Thai classics. Salty, spicy, saucy, and fun as sin (that's the food, but that's Chrissy, too), these dishes are for family, for date night at home, for party time, and for a few life-sucks moments (salads). You'll learn the importance of chili peppers, the secret to cheesy-cheeseless eggs, and life tips like how to use bacon as a home fragrance, the single best way to wake up in the morning, and how not to overthink men or Brussels sprouts. Because for Chrissy Teigen, cooking, eating, life, and love are one and the same.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER An inspirational book about life and its lessons from the Golden Globe and Emmy nominated star of NBC’s This Is Us. When This Is Us debuted in fall 2016, a divided America embraced a show that celebrates human connection. The critically acclaimed series became America’s most watched—and most talked about—network show, even building on its fan base in the drama’s second season. As Kate Pearson, Chrissy Metz presents a character that has never been seen on television, yet viewers see themselves in her, no matter what they look like or where they come from. Considered a role model just for being her authentic self, Chrissy found herself on magazine covers and talk shows, walking red carpets, and as the subject of endless conversations on social media “I don’t know what you’ve been through to play her,” she is often told by fans, “but it was something.” In This is Me, Chrissy Metz shares her story with a raw honesty that will leave readers both surprised but also inspired. Infused with the same authenticity she brings to her starring role, Chrissy’s This is Me is so much more than your standard Hollywood memoir or collection of personal essays. She embraces the spirit of Shonda Rhimes’ Year of Yes, and shares how she has applied the lessons she learned from both setbacks and successes. A born entertainer, Chrissy finds light in even her darkest moments, and leaves the reader feeling they are spending time with a friend who gets it. Chrissy Metz grew up in a large family, one that always seemed to be moving, and growing. Her father disappeared one day, leaving her mother to work a series of menial jobs and his children to learn to live with the threat of hunger and the electricity being cut off. When her mother remarried, Chrissy hoped for “normal” but instead experienced a form of mental pain that seemed crafted just for her. The boys who showed her attention did so with strings attached as well, and Chrissy accepted it, because for her, love always came with conditions. When she set out for Los Angeles, it was the first time she had been away from her family and from Florida. And for years, she got barely an audition. So how does a woman with the deck stacked against her radiate such love, beauty and joy? This too is at the heart of This is Me. With chapters that alternate from autobiographical to instructional, Chrissy offers practical applications of her hard-won insights in a series of “Bee Mindful” interstitials. There she invites you to embrace gratitude in “Say Thank You” or to be honest with your partner and yourself in “The Shrouded Supreme.” Blending love and experience, Chrissy encourages us all to claim our rightful place in a world that may be trying to knock us down, find our own unique gifts, and pursue our dreams.

Cravings: Hungry for More takes us further into Chrissy’s kitchen . . . and life. It’s a life of pancakes that remind you of blueberry pie, eating onion dip with your glam squad, banana bread that breaks the internet, and a little something called Pad Thai Carbonara. After two years of parenthood, falling in love with different flavors, and relearning the healing power of comfort food, this book is like Chrissy’s new edible diary: recipes for quick-as-a-snap meals; recipes for lighter, brighter, healthier-ish living; and recipes that, well, are gonna put you to bed, holding your belly. And it will have you hungry for more.

As twins, Bobby and Chrissy also don't quite look alike. They share a lot of things, including their birthday. Having the same birthday sometimes means sharing a birthday cake. Even worse this year, they may have to share their birthday gift. The gift Chrissy has in mind isn't Bobby's idea of fun. Some "gifts" aren't always what you expect. Some "things" aren't always what they seem.

The book is a collection of stories and ideas that have an Australian flavour. It is a teacher’s inspirational idea used to hold the attention of the children in the month up to Christmas. Like the advent calendars filled with lollies, this book has a daily December treat for the child opening each date. It also serves to provide some cultural practices and language that is Aussi in nature. It is also hoped that children will learn more by writing to the author at the little black dog’s e-mail address. I believe that by engaging children more teachers can provide greater opportunity for individual growth. I see our job as catalyst to move children on to independent thinking.

Chrissy's life has completely fallen apart... ...and if she doesn't figure it out soon, she'll definitely be homeless, broke, and a giant failure for the rest of her life. Probably. A year after college graduation, Chrissy ends up where she hoped she would never find herself: back on her parents' doorstep. She magically lands a job at the Netflix show "Let's Cook! with Derrick Longjohns," and prays it will be a one-way ticket to her dream culinary school. But her job turns out to be nothing like she imagined, especially when she runs into a very attractive, very bicep-y stranger. Unfortunately, she is Clumsy McAwkwardson, and has a bad habit of spilling Fanta all over herself. Super attractive. Now, she just has to pretend to be a good employee. And stay on Mom's good side. And impress her perfect sister, Paige. And help plan Grandma's (seventh) wedding. And somehow, some way, convince everyone that she has it all under control. No biggie. ------- Q&A with Genevieve Lerner Q: What first got you into writing? A: Ah, that's an EXCELLENT question. I've always had this compulsion to tell stories in any way possible-whether I was acting them out onstage, telling them with my body by dancing ballet, or writing them down. I have also always had an even bigger compulsion to make people laugh at any cost. Writing became a way that I could communicate my feelings, tell stories, and get people to laugh, all the same time! Q: Who are some of your favorite writers? A: Well, I've always loved Sophie Kinsella because she makes me laugh harder than nearly any writer I've read. Growing up I adored Meg Cabot and Gail Carson Levine-actually, I still love them. Lately, I've been inspired by everything Jhumpa Lahiri writes, and "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt is my current favorite. Q: What do you do when you're not writing? A: I recently quit my entire life to backpack the world solo for awhile, and it was the best time I've ever had! I'm also an actor and performer, and my favorite thing is, shockingly, comedy! I love writing and performing sketches, especially when they center around a woman's experience in this world. Q: What's next? A: I'm currently writing a memoir of my travels, entitled "Yes to Nowhere," after my travel blog that inspired it, and working on another installment of contemporary women's literature! I am also hoping to write a full-length farce soon.
